Tracking Student Postings in Moodle Forums
Posted by Bonnie Tensen on 24 October 2013 10:41 AM

Whether you are assigning number grades or simply tallying participation in your Moodle forums, there may be times when you want to efficiently track how often students post to forums. Below is a method for viewing all of the postings only ONE student has made to a forum.

  1. Go to the specific forum you wish to track and in the “Administration” box (on the right), click on “Logs.”

Click on "Logs" in Administration block

  2. In the window that opens, select a student's name from the dropdown menu where it says "All Participants," select “Create” from the dropdown menu where it says “All Actions” and then click “Get these logs.”

Select student name and "create" from dropdown menu

  3. A window will open with a list of all of the postings this student has done for this specific forum.
